Welcome to the website for Ragged Edge.
We’re delighted that The Chef Show will be touring again in 2018.
In the meantime…
We will be having a showing of work in progress for our next production at
The Dukes Theatre Lancaster on Friday 19th January at 7.30pm.
We’d love to hear what you think!
Keeping the Lights On will explore the region’s special relationship with energy production. There are many aspects to this, including the advent of fracking in Lancashire, the installation of wind-farms, the proposal for a tidal lagoon in Morecambe Bay, the nuclear industry at Heysham and the prospect of the new nuclear plant at Moorside and the proposed Geological Disposal Facility. This is an immensely important part of the contemporary story of our region and touches on a vital national question.
In recognition of how enormous this subject is, we have 6 diverse writers creating short pieces that will be performed by a company of 4 actors working with sound designer Mark Melville.
These will be radio plays that we will perform live on stage – working with live mics and recorded sound and allowing the audience to enjoy the inventiveness of live sound effects.
A theatrical and playful form to engage audiences of all ages.
We will be considering the near future and presenting stories that engage audiences with the issues and encourage them to find out more.
